Billy Strachan was born and raised on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. After leading an active lifestyle, Billy suffered a debilitating lower-back injury in late 2004. Although that experience amounted to the greatest suffering he had ever endured, it was also the most empowering event of his life. Realizing from that point on that the only thing holding him back in life was him, Billy recovered with a will to make a difference in the world. Here is what people are saying about him:

"Billy Strachan is extraordinarily self-possessed and very articulate. You could see about him that this is a fellow who will make quite a mark in the world."

• Stephen Lewis, UN Special Envoy for HIV/AIDS in Africa (2001-2006)

“Billy's presence, energy and professionalism are striking. It is rare to see in one so young the confidence and the purpose that Billy commands.”

• George Smyth, Retired President, Bell Northern Research

“I've been moved by the way Billy shares his heart with his audience, employing his own life story and remarkable healing journey to engage his listeners in a way that opens them to the empowering message of his presentations: that absolutely everyone has the positive ability to effect change.”

• Dianne Radmore, Founder and Director, Women and the Earth
